WebFest.Me Features WebUp Finalists – Which Project Will Pitch At TechCrunch Disrupt 2013?

3 min read,

WebFest.Me is almost here and so is the WebUp, our very own startup competition! It’s going to be a lovely event, taking place in Budva, Montenegro on September 20th and 21st. We already told you what can you expect from WebFest.Me 2012, and now it’s time to introduce you to our WebUp finalists; a talented batch of projects driven by hardworking people from the SEE region.

What can the winner of WebUp expect? Well, there’s fame and glory – you’ll be the number one person to give interviews for the media, you’ll never get a chance to walk on beautiful Budva beach alone, but what’s more important, you’ll get a chance to pitch your projects at TechCrunch Disrupt 2013 conference! So, if you’re on the list below, make sure you get to Budva well-prepared, because the jury will pick out the best one among you!

Predrag Lesić, CEO of Domain.Me, explained why startups should apply for WebUp and why TCDisrupt is important:

When we started working on the start-up competition, we were aware that it wouldn’t be the first time our region has seen this kind of event, which is good. So we asked ourselves, what can we do to make it different? What can we offer that hasn’t been seen?
And that is how we came up with the idea of TechCrunch Disrupt. The result was an incredibly high quality of applicants, which made it very hard to decide which startups should enter the finals. The diversity of ideas, business models and the overall creativity show how young people today truly have no boundaries. Some applicants use undiscovered opportunities, and some try to bypass the gap between the people and technology in the most peculiar ways, all of which promises an exciting series of presentations.
I am sure that the winner among this talented group will achieve great success on TCDisrupt Startup Alley, and perhaps even at Startup Battlefield. We are looking forward to presenting them at WebFest.
