Web fest 2011. Will Bring WordPress, About.Me and GoDaddy to Southeastern Europe
Time to reserve September 22nd and 23rd! Why? Web fest 2011. is taking place on those days in Budva, Montenegro. Its a two day conference dedicated to popularizing online businesses in Southeastern Europe and the biggest web festival in the region. This year’s speakers include the founder of WordPress Matt Mullenweg, as well as About.me’s Tony Conrad. As you might have noticed by Web fest’s logo, this year’s conference is powered by .Me!
Web fest 2011. will take place in the beautiful coastal town of Budva in Montenegro, home to 15,000 people, an active nightlife scene and beautiful Mediterranean architecture. Budva is actually one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast, over 2,500 years old.
Experience and Energy
Web fest will feature a number of prominent international and regional speakers. You probably already know Matt Mullenweg, the young founder of WordPress, the most popular blogging platform on the web which we taught you how to install. Tony Conrad, an experienced venture capitalist on the other hand, didn’t just create About.me but also serves on the board of numberous prominent web companies such as Automattic (WordPress), GDGT, StockTwits and KISSmetrics.
We’ll also have a number of domain and hosting industry professionals, uncluding ICANN’s Alexander Siffrin and eNom’s Chris Sheridan! If you’re really interested in the domain industry, don’t forget Web fest’s roundable with our colleagues from eNom, Key-Systems and GoDaddy. Blacknight’s Michele Neylon will talk about advertising on social networks. Joining them will be a number of successful regional startups. Zemanta’s Andraz Tori will explain how to blog smarter, while Nordeus’ Branko Milutinovic will talk about social gaming.
A web conference wouldn’t be that if it didn’t feature some success stories, such as the Ebay of Serbia – Limundo and Croatia’s Wall of Tweets. Djordje Zekovic will in fact tell us his personal story as well as the story of Logate! …and lets not forget, our own Natasa Dukanovic will talk about personal branding on the web while our CEO Predrag Lesic will finish the conference of with a talk on how to “web up .me”.
