Can Vox.io Beat Skype with Vox.me: an Interview with Marketing Director Jakob Marovt

2 min read,

If you didn’t have the chance to attend the awesome Web Fest .Me conference in Budva or didn’t even manage to watch the stream, no worries! We’ve got you covered with a number of interviews with a number of the conference’s speakers, including Jakob Marovt, the marketing director of Vox.io. Vox.io is planning to challenge Skype for the crowd of VoIP king which doesn’t sound like the easiest job in the world.

In the interview Jakob shared with me the vision of Vox.io, their use of new web technologies and how they plan to develop their product. Jakob Marovt studied Computer and information science both at the University in Ljubljana as well as the University of Southern Denmark and before Vox.io worked at the Seedcamp startup accelerator. Interestingly, since Vox.io is a Seedcamp startup now, Jakob has the chance of being on the other side of the famous European startup network:

Vox.io is currently using Vox.me for one of their most prominent features: quick calls. Quick calls let you generate a unique, one-time link you can share with anyone you want to call you. This lets you not only easily share your contact without relying on telephone numbers, but also helps you protect your actual phone number from unwanted attention. Seems Vox.io has a chance against Skype, after all… 😉
