Unbaby.Me Will Keep Your Facebook News Feed Free of Baby Photos

3 min read,

So, you’re having a baby? That’s nice, but please, don’t get overwhelmed and spam my Facebok News Feed with literary hundreds of photos of your newborn. Sure, most of us can get past one or two, but anything more than 10 same photos of your two-day old is too much.

I’m sorry for this harsh intro, but it’s for your and your kids’ safe as well. C’mon, just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should, right? Give that baby some privacy! Really, we (your friends) can feel and share your joy, but everything has a limit. And Unbaby.Me will keep my News Feed free from your baby photos.

What’s the Problem?

However, this is pretty hard to understand when you’re a fresh, first time parent, right? You know what I mean – why can’t the whole world be happy for me and my baby?! I got a baby and I’ll make sure to take bazillion pictures of him and create thousand of albums and my friends don’t like them? WHY?!

All is said right here

There’s this phenomenon on social networks – oversharing. Oversharing of the stuff you should share, at least not so publicly with such a broad audience. Sure, you can set up privacy and what not, but that’s just a mask – if you put photos of your kids on Facebook, they are there – on the Internet, on-line. As a parent, you should know better.

Unbaby My News Feed

However, there are 7 billion of us on this lovely planet and who am I to judge – if you want to share pictures of your baby, go right ahead. Don’t be mad when I unfollow you, unfriend you or use a tool like Unbaby.Me. It’s a Google Chrome extension and whenever it finds a photo of a baby on Facebook, it will replace it with something else – cats, dogs and other cool Internet stuff.

It’s really easy to set it up – open up Unbaby.Me, click the button to install the extension and refresh Facebook. Baby pictures will now become cats, and if you’ve got the time, you can set it up to show even more things. Still, don’t be a real douchebag; make sure your parent-friends know that you love them and you’re happy for them. After all, it’s all about compromise.

On the other hand, if you’re really annoyed with baby pictures on your News Feed, maybe it’s time for you to try out Unbaby.Me.
