As an introduction to the startup competition, we have prepared a selection of former winners to showcase you the companies that have won the competition, and also tell you what are they up to today.
The first startup we’re delighted to present are the winners of the Spark.ME startup competition back in 2013, TruckTrack. To describe the company in short is no small feat, but basically, it brings the trucking industry into the 21st century.
Keep On Truckin’ – But Online
Almost all companies that are flourishing today are in one way or another featured online. From websites to apps and everything in between, being online has become the norm. But even so, more and more companies turn to tools that increase their productivity in ways not before possible. Slack is doing an amazing job establishing itself as THE company chat app, and internet integration is slowly finding its way into all industries. Following those trends, TruckTrack aims to position itself as the leading app for trucking companies.
Starting from the catchy “if you bought it, a truck brought it”, TruckTrack aims to provide the truckers with sophisticated and user-friendly tools that allow them to be more productive and, in turn, make their life just a little bit easier.
TruckTrack brings never-before-seen technology into the trucking sector, with possibilities ranging from fleet management, fuel consumption optimization and even transferring all of the data into the cloud, something that will surely help a lot of truckers. TruckTrack can also help you see where your trucks are and whether they are loading or unloading, as well as letting you keep track of invoices and manage all of your loads from pickup to delivery.
What’s also really cool, is that TruckTrack lets you have all of the companies you’re working with under one app, so there’s no need for complicated emails and paperwork. You just click and you’re done.
The app also lets you stay in touch with your drivers, inform them about loads they should pick up and manage their paychecks, all from inside the interface. It also provides you with in-depth analysis of your fleet of trucks, with information about inspection dates, make and model, license plate and everything else you might need. There’s also information about any servicing you might have done to your trucks, coupled with receipts and proof of payment.
Companies that use TruckTrack will also be able to integrate the main app with its mobile equivalent so that the drivers can keep track of all the things they need while on the road.
TruckTrack And Spark.ME
TruckTrack won the Spark.ME championship in 2013, and won a ticket to TechCrunch Disrupt and the ability to present their ideas to the public. The startup managed to raise around €260,000 in 2014., with the help of Passion Capital, one of the most prestigious early-stage funds which enabled them to enhance their Belgrade team and create a presence in London, for improved connectivity with the booming UK trucking market, that’s estimated to be worth some $66 billion. The participation at Disrupt also helped the company make a name for themselves in the US, where trucking industry brings some $500 billion a year.
We are very pleased that participating at Spark.ME helped TruckTrack emerge in more markets and make themselves known in the trucking industry. We are sure that in years to come TruckTrack will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the industry, and would surely recommend it to any small to medium-sized trucking businesses, as it will surely improve their productivity and budget.
