TC Disrupt Hackathon – Day 2

.ME is just back from presentations and award giving ceremony, and we have only two words for you – it rocks!! Just for the reminder, the hackathon rules are simple – contestants have 24 hours to create a hack and 1 minute to present it before a panel of judges. Surprisingly, majority of teams have built an app (or two) in less than 24 hours with some time to save for making demo videos. The entire project presentation lasted around four hours and in the end only 6 teams went on to start-up battlefield, with another 2 earning an honorable mention. Also, two hacks have been created on .ME domain name so it turned out that .ME was not only the visitor but also active participant of the hackathon. ThePick.ME is still not up-and-running but you can subscribe for email notification at http://www.thepick.me/. CelebrityTwin.ME is a Facebook app which goes across users photo tags, compares their pictures to celebrities and returns the picture of look alike celebrity. However if the search does not return the results don’t blame .ME or CelebrityTwin team. It is simply because celebrities are not beautiful enough:)
