#MEday: A Day When You Celebrate YOU

4 min read,

When was the last time you took some time just for yourself? Time to enroll in that course you always wanted, appreciate all you’ve done in the past year, pamper yourself with a spa day, or have a picnic with your family?

Three years ago, we realized that for us, the answer to this question is – I don’t remember. Which is a really sad state of affairs. That is when we felt the need to start a #MEday movement, an initiative that has the potential to make our lives, and lives of others less stressful and more fulfilling. We would like you to invite YOU now to help us turn #MEday into a worldwide movement!

Because Regular ‘me-time’ is Important

[su_box title=”#MEday Survey Results” class=”trap right”]

#MEday survey resultsWhile 8 out of 10 people feel stressed and have trouble achieving work/life balance, only 30% of people regularly made time for themselves during the past year. The reasons you can probably guess – lack of time (isn’t that a vicious circle?) and feelings of guilt that emerge every time we even think about putting ourselves first.[/su_box]

New technologies allowed us to achieve more and to be present at many places at once, but they also led to increasingly blurring lines between our personal and professional lives. Work/life balance has become a hot topic of discussion in professional circles and we felt the need to put our two cents in.

.ME team is comprised of people that know all about the hardships of pursuing work/life balance. As people eager to advance professionally, form meaningful relationships and give back to the community all at the same time, it’s not easy to make time for everything we want to be a part of. Something has to be put on a back burner. Most often, that something is us.

Research shows how important quality ME-time is for our well-being. No matter how stressed we feel, by intentionally pursuing activities we enjoy, we recharge out batteries and neutralize the negative effects of stress on both our body and mind. ME time also allows us to take a break, reflect, and view our challenges in a different light, which ultimately improves the quality of our relationships and our performance at work.

Because You Deserve to be Celebrated

March 16th is #MEday

This hurried way of living leads to a decrease of time spent on self-reflection. We try so hard to keep moving forward that we forget to check if we are moving in the right direction, or appreciate the long road we already traversed.

#MEday is here to remind you to take some time to smell the roses.

We believe that we all deserve at least one day to celebrate out achievements, embrace our one-of-a-kind personalities, and connect to what is really important to us. That is where the idea of a #MEday – a day when we all embrace our inner heroes, share our superpowers with the world, or just take time for ourselves by doing something that recharges us – came from.

We are proud to have received great support over the years, and now we wish to invite you to join too!

Help us turn #MEday into a worldwide movement that will spread the values of self-appreciation and importance of taking care of ourselves, and give us all a place where we can feature who we are and celebrate our achievements! Start by lending #MEday your voice by supporting our Thunderclap campaign:

Schedule March 16th in your calendar as a day when you will make time to celebrate and share what makes you unique and indulge, nourish and develop your passions and skills. Encourage your friends and family to do the same and don’t forget to share your ME Day experience with a #MEday hashtag!
