Sticky9 – New Magnetic Attraction For Rebranded Ex-Stickygram

Rebranding is a tricky business. A lot of people try to rebrand, a lot of people fail. Although customers can get bored if you get too repetitive or unimaginative, changing your brand can cause them to disconnect from your brand. There is a reason why is there just one Madonna. However, there are thousands of reasons why and thousand ways of how somebody does their rebranding. Someone wants to completely reimagine themselves, someone wants to tweak a thing or two. Today’s story of rebranding is brought to you by Stickygram… Excuse us, Sticky9.
If you were not familiar with Stickygram, you will get familiar with Sticky9. Esentially they are the same, only Sticky9 is bigger and better. Founded in London in 2011, Sticky9 was born from love of Instagram and desire to make real life stuff from digital content. In the beginning they were offering just magnets that you could make from your Instagram photos. Demand and offering evolved, but the iconic 9-grid magnets stayed at the heart of the job.
However we are not going to tell you why the name changed, and what else, besides magnets, does Sticky9 offers new. Instead, we snatched a short interview with their team, so there will be no misinformations.
From Stickygram to Sticky9. What brought up this rebrand?
Since our foundation in 2011, we grew worldwide. We now sell magnets to the 4 corners of the globe. We felt that we were evolving in a way that we needed to celebrate our expansion through rebranding. First stage was the name change from StickyGram to Sticky9 alluding to our 9-magnet grid. And although we changed the name, our dedication and spirit is still the same, hence our motto: “Brand new name, super cool stuff, the same old friendly humans”.
What are the new features?
One of the most exciting new features is that we moved on from being an only Instagram-based business to allow customers to make products with pictures from their desktop and camera roll (photo sources). Our dearest magnets are still the core of our business but we increased our product range; customised phone cases and iPad covers, as well a beautiful handmade wall frame for our large magnets.
How are users responding to transition?
One of our values is to be customer-centric. We like to make people happy. We value very much what our users say so in that sense feedback is precious. For some time people were asking us to allow using pictures that weren’t on their Instagram account. We felt that with the rebranding it would also be a perfect opportunity to expand and allow users to make products from their desktop/camera roll pictures. In terms of response it couldn’t have been better. A great portion of our customers are already using non-Instagram images and new products were very well received by our Sticky9 community, who have been crucial to testing and developing them.
What are future plans for Sticky9?
It’s been truly exciting times here at Sticky9 and we are definitely not going to stop. We still have a few surprises, there might be some new products, y’all just need to stay tuned!
