Each year, thousands of startups from all over the world dream of a chance to be a part of the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Alley, the biggest startup exhibition in the world. It’s a unique opportunity to present their project to leading investors and media and get much-valued feedback, and if you win at Spark.me competition, it’s all yours!
As conference organizers, our goal with Spark.me Startup Competition is to bring together successful startups from all over Europe, help them grow, and share their ideas with the world. The success track of participants from previous years tells us we did well, and we would like to invite you to join the family!
If you are interested, fill out the application form at http://spark.me/2016/startups/, after which you will go through the pre-selection round. Please note that, in order to participate in Spark.me Startup competition, your startup has to be founded after September 20, 2014 (regardless of where it’s registered) and did not receive more than $2.5 million in funding. This is necessary in order to be eligible for the TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2016 Startup Alley.
Submission deadline is May 4, 2016, 23:59:59 UTC. Ten best startup teams that pass the pre-selection round will be announced on Monday, May 11, 2016, on the official conference website, www.spark.me, and will be invited to present their startup in front of an international jury at Spark.me conference.
The winning team will receive 2 round-trip tickets to San Francisco, hotel accommodation for three days (for 2 people), two tickets for the three-day TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2016 conference, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present and discuss their project with the “tech elite” – hundreds of TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco attendees, investors and media!
In addition to that, all Spark.me 2016 attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of the biggest names of the global startup scene! Among the amazing speakers in our speaker lineup are:
Jon Bradford is the non-executive director of Central Working, an organisation which provides desk space, facilities and advice to support and nurture growing start-ups across a range of sectors and counts more than 1,000 businesses as members across the UK. He is also the director of the Bradfield Centre, in Cambridge, which will incubate science and tech entrepreneurs to help their businesses flourish. Jon is the cofounder of F6S (the leading startup community, where startups grow together through startup programs, deals, jobs, discussion and events), and also Tech.eu (tech blog helping you understand the European technology industry through unique data, stories, insights and interviews). Previously, Jon was the Managing Director of Techstars in London, a mentorship-driven startup accelerator which is considered to be one of the best startup accelerators in the world. Jon is focused on helping start-ups and their founders achieve their true potential.
Marvin Liao is a Partner at global Seed VC Firm & Startup Accelerator, 500 Startups based in Silicon Valley. He invests in Digital Media, Adtech, Enterprise SAAS, Marketplace, and Mobile startups across the globe. Formerly of Yahoo! Inc. (10.5 years), Marvin has held roles in the various departments of Sales, Business Development, Ad Operations and Marketing, and ran online marketing at a venture funded ecommerce start-up prior to that. He also serves on the boards/advisory boards of several internet advertising and ad technology companies. In addition, he is a Mentor for several Startup Accelerator programs in Europe, Asia, Israel and the US, helping guide startup teams with their sales, marketing and partner development efforts.
Dave Haynes is part of the investment team at Seedcamp, sourcing new startups whilst supporting a portfolio of 200 companies that includes Transferwise, Property Partner, Revolut and two Serbian startups, TruckTrack (Spark.me Startup Competition 2013 Winner) and, more recently, Buildcon. Seedcamp is the leading pre-seed and seed stage fund based in London that provides globally ambitious founders from around the world with capital up to €200k and a lifelong platform of support to help them grow exponentially. Dave has extensive startup experience as both an operator and founder, now focusing on the investment side. He was part of the early team at SoundCloud, helping the company grow from launch to the world’s leading online audio platform with 250m monthly users.
