Spark.Me StartUp Competition Takes You to San Francisco TC Startup Alley
If you are a startup you probably know what Startup Alley is- an absolutely awesome event jam-packed with early stage companies showing off their talent and technology to attendees and a fantastic opportunity to get in front of VCs and press. What you may not be so sure of is how to get there? Well, one way is to participate in the Spark.Me StartUp Competition, rock the stage and pitch your way to San Francisco.
Really, Spark.Me? Why, yes!
Spark.me, the awesome internet conference in the CEE region continues its tradition of bringing together successful startups from all over Europe in its annual StartUp competition. Participating in the competition enables startup founders to have access to advisors, mentors, workshops and a network of investors, industry experts and serial entrepreneurs, receive valuable feedback from the judges- and last, but not least, to win the trip to San Francisco and Tech Crunch Disrupt Startup Alley
The Spark.Me StartUp competition values innovation, the power of the idea, the startup’s potential to grow and team diversity. The preselection process lasts until June 5th, when the 10 best StartUp teams will be invited to present at the Spark.me conference, in Hotel Mediteran, June 19-20, 2014.
Who Can Apply? And How?
All startups founded after September 10th2012 with less than $2.5 million in funding are eligible to apply, regardless of where they are registered. This is also a requirement for the TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014 Startup Alley.
Teams should apply through our website application page by May 31st, 2014 at 23:59:59 UTC . Only existing functional projects will be taken into consideration (in alpha or beta phase) and the project description should contain:
- Startup name
- Team members
- Contact information
- Description of the problem that is being solved
- Technical solution
- Target market
Awesome! Now, How Do I Win?
Well, you pitch your way to victory, ofcourse. On the first day of the conference, all teams will present their projects in front of a panel of judges. The alloted time for these pitches is 5 minutes, followed by a Q&A session with the judges. After all applicants have pitched, the judges will chose the lucky and hustlery 3 teams which will present again in the final round. The finalists’ names will be released at the cocktail party at the end of the first day of the conference.
On the second day of the conference, each finalist will have 5 minutes to explain to the judges why they consider their project to be the best, and why they deserve to attend TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014, and the winner will be announced at the end of the conference.

The winner of the Spark.me StartUp competition will have the unique opportunity to present at TechCrunch Disrupt 2014 in San Francisco, and the ultimate prize includes: a return ticket to San Francisco for two people, accomodation for three days for 2 people, and most importantly, a Start-Up Alley booth at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014 and two tickets for the three-day TechCrunch Disrupt conference
