Sonar.me Discovers Who is at an Event With You Thanks to Foursquare and Facebook
Attending different conferences is great, you’ve got a chance to talk to your friends you don’t see that often and maybe meet somebody new.
The question is: how can you know who to meet? You don’t have the list of attendees and even if you’ve set up a hashtag search on Twitter, you’ll probably miss some people. Sonar.me is a great geosocial service that will help you with creating new connections.
Who’s In The Room?
Sonar.me is a mobile application that takes all of the information available from Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, combines them and gives you a list of people who are at the conference, concert or any other type of event you’re attending.
That way you can clearly see almost everyone who is talking about the event in one place; no need to follow hashtags or keep an eye on Foursquare checkins. Sonar will even check if you have any mutual contacts with the people there and if you do, you’ll know how to get introduced in the break.

The best thing about Sonar is that nobody else has to use it in order to function. Thanks to Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare (and soon Facebook Events and LinkedIn) Sonar is able to give you the information without anyone else using it. It’s like a geosocial hub of sorts.
Easy Connect
After you check out who is in the room with you and who your mutual friends are, you can contact that person directly from Sonar. Just tap the button and you’ll get generated tweet with his username, introductory message and the name of the mutual contact! It really doesn’t get any easier than that, so if you’re kinda shy and hate to introduce yourself live, maybe Sonar will help you to break the conversational ice.
Not only will Sonar show you a list of people at your conference, you’ll also get a list of different events nearby, again, with same detailed list of attendees, so there is no way you’ll miss to meet somebody.

Sonar is currently available for your iPhone on Apple’s AppStore, as the Android version is still in development. If you’re an Android developer, let them know and maybe you’ll get a chance to work with their team. So, if you’re going to some conference in the near future, make sure to get Sonar.me and start networking!
