Runno.Me Isn’t Foursquare or RunKeeper: It’s ‘Risk’ for Runners so Claim Your Kingdom!

3 min read,

While working out, you need some kind of motivation to keep moving forward instead of giving up and going to a nearest fast food place, right? Applications and social networks like RunKeeper or Endomondo are cool and helpful, however, pure statistics and comparison to your friends don’t seem to be a master motivator. You need something more, something that will scream “I’m the badass here!”

Runno.Me is just the application you need! Available for your iPhone and soon for your Android device, Runno.Me combines those sport tracking apps with the power of Foursquare – or to be more precise – conquering and claiming geographical areas. It’s more of a game actually, because working out should be fun!

Running the Army

Yeah, running 🙂 Runno.Me isn’t just a statistical app with check-ins, but a complete platform with a gameplay layer on top of everything. The main difference between checking in with Runno.Me compared to Foursquare is that Runno.Me allows you to own complete territories (similar to Oust.Me) which you can claim as your kingdom. Like any king, you’ll have other users, your dukes, to help you keep your ground.

However, the more you work out, the more powerful king you are. By working out, you can earn points called Walluta, where one burnt calorie will get you seven Wallutas. With it, you can buy virtual soldiers to help you keep your “castle”.

If you want to take over someones area, you can do anything what a real life king would do – start a battle. After a seven day period, the king with the most soldiers left standing takes over. Make sure to run or bike enough – battles can be difficult and you’ll need to burn a lot of calories to hire a lot of soldiers if you want to take over the area of your fellow players.

I Just Want To Run

If you’re (like Johnny Cash) a solitaire man and you just want to do your daily run, you can use Runno.Me purely as a statistical application which will track your work out progress. However, sooner or later, you’ll want to own some areas, but you won’t have any army to support you. No problem – head over to Runno.Me market and buy wanted area from other people!

Runno.Me interface

Runno.Me is a pretty interesting Swedish startup that successfully managed to differentiate itself from the competition; it’s like RunKeeper, but it’s a lot different. It’s like Foursquare, but it’s not. Of course, it’s connected to your Facebook account so you can hail your victories over the lazy ones in your list 😉

If you own a smartphone and you’re into sports, try out Runno.Me!
