Refer.me – a New Way to Send and Receive Referrals from Real People
We all like to get real advice from our friends and acquaintances. Which coffee shop has the best muffins, where we could buy cheap furniture or where to take our pets for a haircut. Sometimes, though, our community may not know the answer – maybe because none of our friends own a dog, or maybe because we moved and our friends know nothing about shops and services on our new location.
Enter Refer.me – a new way to share and collect referrals. Once you log into the service with your Facebook credentials or email address, you can post questions directly to someone or to a wider community on a location-based newsfeed. This allows you to receive quick referrals from real people – be it your friends or local experts.

Using Facebook’s open graph, referrals and questions asked are posted to the users’ news feed, reports AllFacebook.
If you have many quality referrals, you can build your reputation score in area of expertise. A product (or a service) can be referred to a specific friend or simply saved to a collection. Other members can explore the best collections within their location or area of interest, which is going to build new communities and compelling content in the process.
