Karyn White was born in Los Anglels in 1965 as youngest of five children. During the late 80’s and early 90’s she was a successful musician that was nominated for Grammy, AMA, Soul Train and Billboard Music Awards. Her first self titled album “Karyn White” was produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface and it achieved platinum status. Being that successful in your 20’s is a dream that many musicians are still trying to achieve today. Her subsequent album “Ritual of Love” was also successful, but her third “Make Him Do Right” did not fare well.
She was signed to Warner Bros. Records, but in 90’s brought something that would put her music career on pause. In 1992 she got married and had a family, and since she realised that bohemian style of life, that often goes hand in hand with music, is not the right surrounding for raising her daughter. Although she released her third album in 1994, she dropped out of public eye in 1999 when she left Warner Bros. Records. It was also the year when she divorced and decided to change her career path.

During her absent years, she started interior design and real estate business that she still runs today. Although she recorded a new album titled “Sista Sista” in 2006, it was shelved. However in 2012, she recorded and released new album called “Carpe Diem” alongside her website karynsworld.me. Her greatest hit remains Superwoman from 1989. It was sold over million units, certified gold by RIAA and named Billboard R&B song of the year 1989. Although it peaked at number 8 at Billboard Hot 100, her leading single “Romantic” from her second album hit number 1 and those were not her only top 10 hits.
Everybody loves a comeback and Karyn has showed that the music inside of her did not die. Music business has changed a lot since the 80’s but by embracing internet and uniqueness of .me domain shows that Karyn means business. So we wish all the best to her and we hope that we will soon see some new updates and songs on karynsworld.me.
