Paul Jun – A Brand Strategist And Storyteller

Creative people have the power to bring out the most beautiful sides of cities, people, and everyday objects. They inspire the world by showing how breathtaking it actually is.
One of these people is our .ME family member Paul Jun. A photographer, storyteller, creator, and brand strategist, Paul uses his creativity to write texts and take enchanting photos.
So let us tell you more about this amazing young man!
A Talented Wordsmith

Paul certainly knows his way around words. And he used that skill to start off his career and eventually become a creative brand strategist. But that wasn’t how he started. He confesses:
“I did not grow up feeling “creative.” I failed my way through school. I never read books. I didn’t know anything about writing or its history.”
So what happened? Around 2009, when he was “aimless and a little lost in life”, a friend recommended something new to him. To try blogging! “Just do something, learn something,” the friend admonished him.
And that’s how Paul created a blog called Motivated Mastery. He shared advice based on his experience as well as his observations on his colleagues’. Paul managed to skillfully combine the topics of mastery, creativity, and change into one blog.
Just this year, after 10 years of running it, Paul unpublished the blog. It’s been a step up in his career, but it has served its purpose. With a heart full of gratitude, Paul said:
“Motivated Mastery was the launchpad for my career. It was the best use of my time at that stage in my life. It was a sandbox to play in. It was a platform to self-publish three books. The newsletter grew to 3,000 readers. It … allowed me to practice and find my voice, to make a mess and to use my time meaningfully.”
Paul also worked for Collins, where he built an editorial platform. He succeeded in doubling the followers of this agency across all the social media thanks to his different approach to marketing. In his own words, his goal is “to provide context, not content”. This kind of thinking and hard work brought him the award AdAge Design Agency of the Year 2020.
When A Brand Strategist Gets Creative…
In order for a marketing campaign to succeed, simply being creative isn’t enough. It also has to be strategically planned to produce the most impact. So, a professional marketer has to be both highly strategic and creative. This is why Paul shines so bright.
He loves taking on challenges and working on projects where a brand has to be developed through storytelling. Paul worked for the global CreativeMornings, the world’s largest face-to-face creative community for exactly that reason.
Photography As Yet Another Way To Showcase Creativity

Do you love creative photographs? Then you have to follow Paul’s Instagram account. He manages to masterfully capture the essence of life through his camera lens. His photos show everyday people and life in a city.
The pictures of people in their ordinary lives, the city’s day-to-day look, and common life. Without exaggeration, that’s a true breath of fresh air in the Instagram feed.
He creatively shows the charm of everyday life. With his photos, Paul presents the beauty of ordinary life. The brilliant storyteller that he is, that beauty is what Paul uses to tell us enchanting stories.
Paul has another project he is currently working on. He founded and now leads the Instagram profile called The Observers. He interviews talented photographers to find out which photo books inspire them the most. On this account, you can find a whole list of advice given by some of the best photographers. Whether you’re interested in photography criticism, feedback, approaches to this art form, emotions, or other topics – you’ll find that interests you! This will definitely be of great use to all of you aspiring photographers out there, and the interviews can just inspire you.
More Than Just An Inspiration

So this is the type of person Paul is. He does not want to inspire people to follow their creativity only by posting his photographs and interviews of other people. Paul also shares his knowledge and gives advice based on his own personal experience.
One of the ways in which Paul achieves this is with the.ME domain. On his blog, he publishes his own articles that cover various topics. This includes creativity, the influence of community on creative work, tools and apps that you might find useful, etc. One of the most important topics he covers is how to rediscover your creativity and push yourself forward after a burn-out. In any case, if you’re interested in doing creative things, you will certainly find Paul’s articles useful.
Also, through his blog, Paul found a way to serve the community, help people find their own calling, follow their dreams and reach their full potential.
Another way in which Paul helps people achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams is by coaching in Seth Godin’s altMBA program. The purpose of this program is to help high achievers to become leaders and improve their careers. So far, Paul has coached over 8 sessions of this program and coached more than 300 students into success.
Wrapping Up

We admire Paul Jun for his willingness to share his knowledge and experience with his colleagues and aspiring artists. To achieve that and reach as wide an audience as possible, he became an irreplaceable part of the .ME family.
