Montenegro scores points on the Balkan Olympiad

1 min read,

On the 18th Balkan Olympiad in informatics, which officially ended on November 6th, Montenegrin high-school students scored first points for their country. Although they did not manage to get any of the medals (scores for gold, silver and bronze were predetermined), the placement is still considered a success, since this is the  first time Montenegro participated in such an event. General preparations for the Olympiad and training in the field of informatics were organized in collaboration of .ME Registry and the State Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The project started as an advanced 2-year training for the talented students organized by their teachers and  university professors and included 2 summers schools of computer science and intensive preparations before the event. .ME is looking forward to further cooperation with gifted young programmers and hopefully some medals. For the list of results please go to the official Olympiad website.
