Moment.ME: A Collection of Mutually-Shared Experiences

When you go out to a party or a concert, people take photos. Lots of people take lots of photos. Sometimes they are all very similar, like on a concert where everyone is taking a picture of the stage. Other times, like on a party, you are missing great moments simply because you are not there, or are missing a great photo because you are looking at the wrong direction.
Nowadays we share our photos online. People use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to share bits and pieces of their lives with one another. But if you want to see what was going on at Patrick’s birthday party last week – you will have to go through several profiles and social networks. Wouldn’t it be better if you could see everything at one place? Well, now you can. 😉
Everybody’s Photos in One Album!

Moment.ME is an application that will take all of your moments and connect them with the same moments from your friends’ lives, thus giving you an option of viewing one big collection of memories and pictures. It will do ask for your permission to log into (almost) every social network out there: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ on your phone, but if you check your Moment.ME profile on the web, you will see Picasa and be able to add Flickr, too.
Moment.me picks up where photo sharing ends and gives you a complete 360-degree view your personal experiences as seen through your friend’s eyes. The app scans the web and gathers, matches and presents moments that are most relevant to your shared experiences. Moment.me adds all of your moment buddies, friends and strangers who shared the same experience, which allows you to connect with your true-life friends—and even meet new friends that shared your experience.
CEO Ronny Elkayam gave in interview for TechCrunch in which he explained how the app will work well even if you’re the only one of your friends who uses it:
“Even if a user is the only one in the room with the Moment.me app, if they’re hanging out with people they’re connected with in their social networks, they’ll still see great Moments with their friends’ content included. We call this the ‘empty room scenario’.”
Of course, the app will respect your privacy as much as you respect it. If you share something on Facebook only to a selected group of friends, it will stay that way. Your photos or statuses will not suddenly become publicly available to all to see, simply based on the event or your location.
You can always see moments that are trending here and explore what’s going out in the world (or, what you have been missing). If you wanna use Moment.ME on your phone, you can download the application from iTunes Store. If you are an Android user, you will have to hold your horses for a little while, as the app is not yet available on Google Play. But, nothing is stopping you from playing with the website and telling us how you liked it!
