About Shiblee

Shiblee Imtiaz Hasan is an award-winning designer and engineer (or, as he put it, a creative technologist) from California. His work experience is vast – not only did he take part in numerous successful projects, but he also worked for tech giants such as Apple and Amazon. 

He currently works at Google, where he designs and engineers prototypes for Google’s Virtual Reality team.

If you’re wondering how he got there, the answer is simple – he absolutely loves what he does. And he is more than ready to work hard for it.

About his educational background and expertise

Shiblee has always loved being involved in developing and engineering things, be it physical or virtual ones. He is, however, equally interested in the design process itself – he loved art and visuals even before he got his first computer. 

This passion for design and technology was the main reason Shiblee decided to pursue an education that will allow him to quench his thirst for knowledge. He began with the BRAC University, where he studied Computer Science and learned the ropes of programming. From there, he went on to the University of Michigan. He got his Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, with a particular focus on UI and UX design.

During and after his studies, Shiblee used every opportunity he had to practice his programming and design skills. He worked on developing software solutions, apps, scale models, and hardware prototypes for mobile and desktop devices. Moreover, he designed visual content, user interfaces and experiences, 3D modeling, animations, and motion graphics.  

Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Shiblee has gained many skills, including UI engineering, UX design and research, visual prototyping, interaction and product design, data visualization, virtual reality, and many others. In addition, he has worked on all the major platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows, Unix/Linux, and Mac.

But what truly makes Shiblee’s heartbeat faster is working on projects that combine human interfaces with his engineering skills and artsy nature. 

About his career

Shiblee took the first step on his career path as early as middle school. He used to volunteer in various companies and organizations, developing his skills and gathering much-needed experience. In the period from 2004 to 2011, Shiblee was in charge of his own startup. He was working on a multimedia design, creating interactive websites and designing innovative applications, which helped him further hone his skill set. As time went by, he became better at what he did and managed to stand out as a valuable, innovative, and hard-working designer/developer.  

Since his volunteering days, Shiblee has worked on a multitude of amazing programs, websites, user interfaces, platforms, and prototypes. He was behind the design of the University of Michigan’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Master of Entrepreneurship program webpages. Also, as a team leader at ManGoes Mobile, he was in charge of iOS and Android app development and design. Additionally, he worked for Apple, where he developed an interactive analytics portal. 

Moreover, Shiblee took part in various Amazon projects including developing the Amazon Retail Analytics Premium for mobile devices, creating an advanced analytics platform for Amazon local merchants, designing a package tracker platform, as well as coming up with a variety of engaging user interfaces. And that’s not all – during his time at Amazon, Shiblee filed over 10 innovative patents.

Getting recognized for his work

Following his career success, Shiblee won many prestigious awards. Some of them are Up The River Award, Lights Out WMS Award, Deliver Results Award, and People’s Choice Award.

Currently, Shiblee is part of Google’s Virtual Reality Team, where he focuses on user experience design, as well as product development and prototyping.
