Meet Luka Zaric: Designer Who Knows the Power of Personal Branding

Every once in a while, while browsing the web, we stumble upon creative individuals who decided to use their talent and skills to rock one of the most innovative industries today – the design industry. One such creative is Luka Zaric. A talented graphic designer and a storyteller whose visuals are sure to resonate with you.
A member of our very own ME team, Luka uses his visuals to create digital narratives and stunning illustrations that help brands develop a unique identity and become recognizable.
And he does that pretty well.
Who is Luka Zaric?

Luka Zaric is a freelance graphic designer who comes from Podgorica, Montenegro. What led him to a decision to enter the Faculty of Visual Arts was his love for visual arts; genuine passion for creating innovative design solutions; expressing his ideas through remarkable illustrations; as well as an insatiable desire to extend his knowledge and develop new skills.
Luka started pursuing a career in the creative industry and gaining invaluable work experience even before he got his degree. He acquired his first freelance design project was as early as 2012. He landed his first full-time job as a graphic designer in 2016 when he joined a well-known digital creative agency in Podgorica.
By working on several different projects, Luka discovered that his true passion lies in coming up with powerful branding and visual identity solutions that help companies create a better brand experience. But that is not to say that, he doesn’t enjoy several other areas of design. In fact, Luka has vast experience in creating motion graphics, illustration, print, and web design.
Currently, Luka is self-employed and working on various exciting freelance projects, trying to gain more experience and build his creative skillset. He says that “pursuing a design career is a roller coaster you will most certainly enjoy, and as with most creative industries – it can either be the most fun or the most exhausting decision you’ve ever made, so it’s up to you not to make it the latter.”
What does his design reveal about him?

Even a quick glance at Luka’s personal website, lukapsd.me, reveals a lot about his aesthetic and artistic expression. Clearly, all about modern and contemporary visual solutions, his design is sophisticated and refined, inspired by geometric shapes, and enriched with eye-catching details, often accentuated by vibrant colors.
Being engaged in many different projects enables him to gain experience in creating different types of design. At the same time, he constantly works on improving his skills and learning new tricks of the trade. This speaks volumes about his versatility as a designer and a strong desire to constantly push his own boundaries in order to excel.
In Luka’s opinion, if you are a designer, you should always strive to explore your real potential by testing your limits. “Get out of your comfort zone and try designing things you never imagined doing. If you’re a print designer, try animation. If you’re an illustrator, try branding.”
However, he believes that although being a jack-of-all-trades and expert in several areas of design might be great career-wise; focusing your attention on one particular area to master it, might prove to be more beneficial in the long run.
How is Luka managing his digital footprint?

Regardless of the industry, creating a personal website and strong online presence is essential when it comes to personal branding. This is especially true in the world of design. If you are an aspiring designer you’re probably trying your best to get your name out there and make a brand out of it.
Designers tend to freelance a lot, so having a personal website gives them an opportunity to grow their credibility; showcase their work, and create an impressive online portfolio sure to WOW their potential clients. And if we look at Luka’s website, we see that’s exactly what he did. He created a killer portfolio that does his work justice. And it also lets all his future clients know exactly what they can expect should they hire him.
Having an online portfolio and working on your personal branding will get you noticed. So no wonder Luka decided to use a .ME domain as his online home. And we simply can’t think of a more personal way to show the world what you are up to!
According to Luka, “Wanting to be noticed and taken seriously in this day and age and not having a website, or at least some kind of an online portfolio, is almost impossible. If your job is creating visuals and you want to be seen, making excuses for not creating a website doesn’t make sense.
