.ME Registry awards IEDC scholarships

The Registration Agent of .ME domain name awards scholarships for the prestigious IEDC Bled School of Management to six Montenegrin students.
PODGORICA, June 22th, 2011 – DoMEn, in cooperation with IEDC Bled School of Management, has chosen six among thirty enthusiastic and entrepreneurially-oriented undergraduate and graduate students to attend prestigious IEDC School of Management in Bled, Slovenia. Scholarship winners are students from the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (University of Montenegro) and Faculty of International Economics, Finance and Business (University of Donja Gorica). Scholarship in the amount of 1.500 EUR per student was announced in May 2011, and it covers tuition, travel and accomodation costs.
“Ever since its foundation DoMEn has been investing in young people in Montenegro. We have donated computers to primary and secondary schools, we sponsored three summer schools of computer science, and for the first time in the history of Montenegro we are sending the national team to the Olympiad in Informatics, this year hosted by Thailand.” says Predrag Lesic, CEO of DoMEn. “In the past couple of years DoMEn delivered lectures at numerous faculties in Montenegro, where we noticed students´ entrepreneurial spirit and desire to learn, and therefore decided to award these young people with scholarships for Discover Management Program (DMP) at IEDC Bled. The future of Montenegro, as well as the future of the entire region, is with these people since they posses sufficent technical knowledge and understand concepts of contemporary business and success“ adds Lesic.
IEDC Bled School of Management is a prestigious business school with 25-year long tradition and the aim of taking management education and business efficiency in transit economies to the next level. According to “The Independent”, a British daily, “Bled has the best small business school in Europe”. The school offers MBA in business administration (Executive MBA), doctoral studies (Executive PhD) and other educational programs including DMP. Chief lecturer at DMP is J.B. Kassarjian, a management professor at Babson College USA, professor emeritus at IMD-Lausanne, Switzerland, a former professor at Harvard Business School and one of widely acknowledged experts in the areas of Leadership and Change Management. His 3-part case series, Sony Europa (A), (B), and (C), won the 1999 European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Case-Writing prize, in the Change Management category. J.B. Kassarjian also served as consultant to numerous public and private organizations in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
IEDC scholarship application included writing an essay on “What Makes a Good Leader”. In this way the applicants expressed their creativity, enthusiasm and innovative understanding of the entrepreneurship and leadership, which is, at the same time, the cornerstone of DoMEn´s success. The very words of scholarship winners “Leaders are not born, they are made. It is hard work what makes them and this is the cost of success”, indicate that they understood what education in the field of entrepreneurship truly means. Moreover, applicants´ energy and wit expressed in their essays, resulted in IEDC approving a discount of 50% to all those who failed to win a scholarship. ´
