.ME Premium Domain Report 2023

A much weaker primary domain market in the post-COVID era, coupled with the slower economic and venture capital investment activities on a global scale, clearly affected the premium domain market. The trend is noticeable in the .ME zone as 2023 ends with fewer .ME premium registrations and a lower average price compared to 2022, but with a solid performance of .ME two-character and, especially, .ME numeric domains (they account for more than 15% of the premium registrations in 2023).

The data below applies to the period from January 1st, 2023 to December 31st, 2023 and includes the facts and figures on .ME premium domains in the primary market through the registrar channel.

The total number of premium .ME domains registered – 51.

Total revenue – 317,500 EUR. [*excluding the registrar’s margin which is usually from 15%  to 25%]. 

Notable companies that registered .ME premium domains include Tripadvisor who is using vi.me as a shortener to Viator, their marketplace for travel experiences, and BandLab Technologies, a Singaporean company who added bl.me to a number of various music brands/domains they operate such as bandlab.com, cakewalk.com and lab.fm.  

Some of the premium domains are already up and running, such as: Best.ME, an app ensuring the fastest and safest weight loss, individually tailored to each customer, Made.ME – a vibrant platform designed for artists to showcase their talents through engaging content and Belong.ME – a network where you can meet new local people who share the same interests, passions and hobbies.

The top registrars – GoDaddy (20 domains), NameCheap (9 domains), Gandi (4 domains) and Dynadot (3 domains).

Top countries – the United States (34 domains), Proxy (8 domains), Other (9 domains).

The total number of 1&2 character domains – 16

Total number of three-character domains – 2.
