Louder.Me combines the best for musicians and listeners

Spending hours on Spotify is probably something I could put in my CV if I had the opportunity. The process of discovering new music appeals to me greatly because I always kind of know that there’s something out there that I could enjoy, but the problem is actually getting to it. Of course, I’m not alone – thousands of people have the same kind of problem so they’re often just stuck with the things they’ve tried already. But that can change.
Louder.ME aims to be a unique service that offers help to both the artists and the listeners so that you can find out new music easily while the artists that create it can get the exposure they need to reach wider audiences. After all, the music industry is highly commercialized, and we’re listening to what others want us to more often than not. Luckily, with services such as this one you’ll still have control over what you’re into so that you might find your new favorite artist today!
The best metaphor for the today’s state of the global music industry is that it looks like an iceberg, with the tip consisting of the artists that have strong support from the biggest labels and agencies, and therefore reach millions of people easily. These are the artists you hear on the radio all of the time and whose songs you probably can’t get out of your head, even if you wanted to. The rest of the iceberg consists of the enormous amount of artists you’ll never find out about.
Branching Out Is Great For You
It’s precisely these artists that probably make the most original and interesting music, and yet they struggle to reach the people they might interest.
A lot of people stick to their “comfort zone” when they are searching for music. It’s not a problem per se, but listening to only 80’s rock could leave you struggling a bit once you’re faced with a completely different genre. Branching out and listening to different kinds of music allows us to understand more about ourselves, and face life in a better way. I, for example, could be described as an “alternative” music listener, but my playlist recently consists of a lot more indie, minimal electro and retrowave tracks than you’d think. And I love it that way.
That’s precisely why finding out ways to learn about new tracks and records is important. Most of us get recommendations from friends that share the same music tastes like I did in high school. But with the dawn of the Internet, you can really do wonders with music. For example, you could use tools like SoundHound or Shazam to find out what song is playing if you hear it on the radio, and then proceed to binge listen to the entire catalog of that artist for days.

Another way is to power up Spotify and play one of the playlists that are designed precisely for that, like New Release Radar. These playlists can help you literally stumble upon interesting new artists that you can then bookmark for your later enjoyment.
Another side of the medal lies in the tough road artists need to take to put their music out there and reach the consumer. Labels can help, but more often than not they like to interfere in the creative process of the artist, which is something nobody likes. It’s also incredibly hard to find a label in the first place, as the number of artists vastly outnumbers labels, and even if they tried they couldn’t sign everybody who wants it.
The Best For Both The Artist And The Listener
A logical step would be a tool to find the solutions of these problems, and that’s precisely what you have with Louder.ME. It’s an app that aims both at consumers and artists in an effort to bring them together and allow people to get new music while also helping artists get the exposure. The app is pretty easy for the consumers: you just start it up and start exploring, while also giving the bands and artists you like points. The gamification part is what keeps the app fresh and interesting, and the bands can be listened to whenever you like, with no limits.
The artists can upload their songs to the app, and enter the tournament format where the users decide what they like the most. If your song gets a lot of listeners, you might just have a hit on your hands, and everything after that is a little bit easier for you, whether that includes finding a label or making a record in your own basement.
So whether you’re an aspiring artist or a seasoned music listener, Louder.ME is a good choice for you. I’ve already applied for the early access, so I’m sure I’ll be using Louder.Me quite a lot in the following weeks.
