Klip.Me: Enjoy Mobile Reading Again on Your Kindle, Android or iPhone

3 min read,

Let’s face it, reading on the web, sitting at your computer and staring at your screen all day long isn’t really a great user experience. Even now while you’re reading this blogpost, wouldn’t you rather be lying in your bed and reading it from your Kindle or some other device? But you would have to sync the device with your computer and that isn’t really fun.

Klip.Me will put an end to that. It’s a service with a focus on web reading, which will push all of your wanted reading materials to your Kindle or to your smartphone while removing anything else than just pure text – no more ads, banners, pop-outs and other things that keep you away from what’s most important – the text you’re about to read.

The Magic of Bookmarklets

Klip.Me is actually a collection of bookmarklets, small pieces of code which you should save in your bookmarks bar. They’re pretty straight-forward to use, just open up Klip.Me and drag those bookmarklets to your bookmarks. When you open up a web site with something interesting to read, just click the appropriate bookmarklet and that’s it. Simple?

There are bookmarklets for pushing the content to your Kindle device or to a mobile device. To use it on your Android device, you’ll need to get the native app for it, while on your iPhone, you’ll use Klip.Me web app. And if you don’t like bookmarklets, there is an extension for your Chrome or Safari browser. Pretty neat!

There are also some options you can set up for your Kindle bookmarklet, and to get to them, click on it while you’re at Klip.Me’s Kindle or Push to Phone web page.

If You Order Now…

If you’re an avid Google Reader user, you’ll love the ability to send subscriptions from your Reader to your Kindle device as well. You’ll have to do some hacking and put the subscriptions you want to read on your Kindle into a specific folder/tag for this to work, but once you’re done with the set up, your Kindle will periodically get the latest articles from your Google Reader.

Sync Google Reader with your Kindle

You can use Klip.Me to synchronize all of the events from your Google Calendar with Kindle as well. One thing is clear, if you own a Kindle, you love reading. Hence, why spend your time reading everything in your dark room when you have a free service like Klip.Me which is perfect for Kindle users?

The spring is here and the summer is coming, try Klip.Me now and you’ll fall for it immidiately. Just imagine, you’re sitting at your favorite coffee place, the sun is all over you and you’re reading your favorite blogs and sites on your Kindle – awesome!
