Just.Me Makes a Comeback and Dares You to Take A Chance

2 min read,

Just.Me is back in the game, now a full fledged developing studio, no less, and it is making a grand re-entrance. It is not just launching one app, but a whole series, the first one being Chance. Chance, basically, dares you to take a chance and get to know a perfect stranger.

Last year, Just.Me messaging app fell into some hard times and auctioned off its assets to settle its  $1.5 million venture debt. As the story goes, according to Tech Crunch, in an unexpected turn of event Just.Me also won the auction, using funds from Archimedes Labs, an incubator started by Keith Teare, who is also the founder of Just.Me. Well, that was an interesting twist.

Now the company,  now a fully fledged app development studio,  is making a big comeback with a series of messaging apps using the Just.me platform. The first one to see the light of day is called Chance and it is a private messaging app that connects users with strangers, and it is apparently  only the first of many stemming from the original Just.me, and each app will combine different mobile messaging features in different ways.

As Teare explained fot Tech Crunch, messaging apps can be public or private, they can allow messaging in groups or pairs, with users anonymous or named. These are some of the features Just.Me plans to play with in the upcoming series. The next app will probably debut in about a month.

Chance seems to be a sort of Chatroulette- Snapchat combo. Users are connected with random strangers from around the world and they exchange pictures and text messages which disappear over time. The whole process is very simple: turn the app on, get assigned a stranger by chance, if they don’t seem like someone you want to talk to, skip them, if they do, chat away!

It also has features like “confessions” which are private. Teare explained that this is because public expression was one of the most used features in the Just.Me app so they decided to add this option to the new one and see how it goes.

We really look forward to seeing new apps roll out of the Just.Me mint and can’t wait to try them out!
