Just 3 (.Me) Social Good Startups That Are Could Change The World

.ME community is filled with innovative startups that are using technology to change the world for the better. Today, we have decided to showcase there of them that are aimed at social good: Cur.Me, StoryCorps.Me, and MeshPoint.Me.
Cur.Me Is A New Health Trend
Modern technology can do wonders to help you feel better, and ease your pain. The newest trend in therapeutic pain relief is TENS therapy or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation therapy. If it sounds complicated, well that’s because it is. Cur.Me is trying to change that, by making a device you can take with you wherever you go.
Cur.ME is patenting a system that uses low levels of electrical current to your brain and eases your pain by masking pain signals. Very high-tech, don’t you think? The sensors in the device monitor your muscles and use just the right amount of current to make you feel better without being unpleasant. The system is currently in development, but we can expect it to be available soon.
StoryCorps.Me Helps By Telling Stories
Next up on our list is StoryCorps.Me. Perhaps you’ve heard about StoryCorps, considering it has grown into an international phenomenon since its inception. StoryCorps.Me allows you to record stories with anyone you want. Considering our previous startup was a piece of medical equipment, this one’s pretty simple, right? You can download the app for your smartphone for free, and then you just need to pick a person and the questions for the interview.
The person can be anyone, ranging from your parents, friends or teachers and grandparents. Everyone has a story to tell, and StoryCorps allows you to hear from the people firsthand. StoryCorps aims to make a database of the wisdom of humanity, one story at a time. You can, of course, help, by downloading the app and talking to someone. We don’t talk that much to people anymore, and just a quick interview with a person you may not know can change the way you view the world around you.
MeshPoint.Me Gives You Internet Wherever You May Roam
The last startup we’d like you to know about is a revolutionary new idea that helped thousands in their time of need. It’s called Meshpoint.Me, and it’s essentially a rugged wireless hotspot.
Created from the need to quickly provide reliable internet access to refugees in camps in Eastern Croatia, Meshpoint.Me allows users to connect to the internet regardless of the weather and location. A single MeshPoint allows for up to 150 devices to connect simultaneously, but the best feature is that a larger number of MeshPoints can actually be used to provide internet over a greater area, as a self-forming and self-healing network.
The casing itself is waterproof and shockproof and houses a 4G LTE modem and three wireless transmitters. That should be enough for supplying a lot of devices with internet. The greatest thing about MeshPoint is that it can pretty much be built at home, with all of the plans being available for download. All you need is a 3D Printer, and you can cover a large area with excellent quality internet!
So now that we’ve shown you three great examples of .ME startups that are making the world a better place, it’s your turn to go out and make a difference. Good luck!
