Let Your New Year Resolution Be To Do #DeedADay!

I usually don’t do New Year’s resolutions, because I am afraid I will break every single one of them and then feel bad. And as the year comes to an end, I am only looking forward to the rest during the holidays. The feeling of a new-year-giving-new- opportunities has gone with writing that marketing plan two weeks ago. And I am tired. Drained. The only wish I have is to feel good (#feelgood).
What I’ve come to understand is that I feel good when I do good things. Is that a subconscious me believing in karma, destiny, life balance, what goes around comes around? It doesn’t really matter, the only thing that matters is that if we would all understand that if by helping other people we help ourselves and then good deeds have so much stronger impact. It comes back. And this somehow sounds selfish. And it is. Just as Antony De Mello said: “There are two types of selfishness. The first type is the one where I give myself the pleasure of pleasing myself. That’s what we generally call self-centeredness. The second is when I give myself the pleasure of pleasing others. That would be a more refined kind of selfishness.” So if we are going to do something good for ourselves, let’s do it by helping others.
So, to finish this year with a good feeling and to start the new with positive energy we have joined the #DeedADay movement. The movement is on a mission to sweep the web with good deed resolutions!
The movement is started by a team of The 100 Good Deeds Bracelet Organization and eight major blogger networks across the United States. The goal is to get the public to make good deed resolutions for the New Year. The campaign will run from December 26th to January 3rd. The objective for this unprecedented partnership amongst blogging organizations is to spread awareness of The 100 Good Deeds Bracelet and promote the social movement with the hashtag #DeedADay. By resolving to do one good deed a day in 2015, you are perpetuating a sustainable, social-good model. The model relies on paying it forward to the artists who create bracelets and anyone whose life you touch on your path to fulfilling your daily deed. Each bracelet is a reminder to spread positive change through action and fulfill the mission to Do Good, One Deed, One Bead, One Act of Kindness at a Time.
So, I picked my bracelet – of course it’s red, and I am starting to Do Good, One Deed, One Bead, One Act of Kindness at a Time. How about you? Want to join the movement? Read more here!
