Join .Me for How to Web in Bucharest & Discover Eastern Europe’s Most Innovative Startups

Why are you going to see us at How to Web in Bucharest next week? Well, because the conference Romanian entrepreneur Bogdan Iordache founded has become the right place to meet the most innovative early stage startups Central and Eastern Europe has to offer. This year they’ve even created a special Startup Spotlight program and contest with 32 team and over 30 mentors… And guess who’s their partner? .Me of course!

This year’s conference is special since the best 32 teams in Central and Eastern Europe will have a whole day for themselves, working and evolving their pitches and startups with over 30 mentors. Their goal is to learn new stuff, network with the region’s top investors, including representatives of over 12 world class accelerators such as Seedcamp and Springboard. They might even win, since Startup Spotlight includes $20,000 in cash prizes! You can find out more about How to Web’s finalists such as Anctu and Incrediblue in their official announcement.
So what do we recommend?! You can see the schedule for yourselves, but be sure to see:
- Evenote’s Phil Libin talk about the power of innovation.
- GECAD’s Radu Georgescu teaching you on how to make money from software;
- The Next Web’s Patrick de Laive’s panel of digitizing the world;
- Clearleft’s Andy Budd on how to use design as a competitive advantage;
- The angel investment panel with Eleven, Seedcamp and Gamma Rebels;
- The Eastern European success stories panel with Soft32 and Ustream (with some weird .Me blogger guy moderating it 😉 ).
Interestingly, the conference is actually a part of the Bucharest Tech Feast, a week of technology, startup and innovation. While How to Web might be going on from the 7th to the 8th, the “feast” is going to be active from November 5th to the 11th with the Go USA! Roadshow, Girls in Tech Romania as well as Startup Weekend. How to Web and Startup Spotlight are a huge part of this effort and we at the .Me domain name are very glad to be part of the project and support CEE’s startup scene.

Some startups like Romania’s Nexi.Me have used the How to Web conference to go from their home country to Silicon Valley – a true regional success story – using a .me domain name none the less.
