Learn How To Web In Bucharest And Put Your Startup In The Spotlight

Startups make the world go round, the world go round, the world go round… Ok, maybe not the world, but they are certainly pushing the tech scene forward, testing its limits and innovating the world we live in. We love that there are so many startups branding themselves through the .me domain, but we also want to support the community regardless of where they are (web-) based. One way is by organizing our own event Spark.Me created to spark your imagination and entrepreneurial spirit, but also by partnering up and supporting similar events across the globe.
One of those is about to take place in Bucharest, on November 20 and 21. We’re talking about the fifth annual How to Web conference, which focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and technology. It brings together the startup crowd, world renowned technology professionals and technology enthusiasts, resulting in over 1000 attendees.
This year’s topic is New Beginnings and the speakers will talk about tech entrepreneurship, disruptive products, investments, and gaming. Among the speakers that have confirmed the attendance to the event so far there are: Paul Papadimitriou, innovation strategist, expert of the emerging digital revolution and its transformative effect on businesses and keynote speaker at the biggest digital events in the world; Chris Chabot, Head of International Developer Relations Twitter, where he enables companies and developers to redefine the future by creating meaningful connections between people through technology and driving change through innovation; or Florian Meissner, Co-Founder and CEO EyeEm, the premier community and marketplace for the photographer inside all of us, as well as Carlos Eduardo Espinal who’s blog you can follow at TheDrawingBoard.Me.
Startups (in the) Spotlight
Startup Spotlight, an integral part of the How to Web conference, will also be taking place between November 19 and November 22. Startup Spotlight is a competition and orientation program during which 32 startups from the region compete for the 20.000 USD cash prizes offered at the 3rd edition of Startup Spotlight competition. During the 4 day of the program, the finalist teams will attend workshops and mentoring sessions, will meet investors and representatives of early stage investment funds and some of the most appreciated acceleration programs worldwide,
Last year 35% of the competing teams closed a deal after the end of the program in the form of an initial investment, a new partnership or a strategic partner that agreed to further support their scaling efforts. If that sounds like a good chance youwouldn’t like to miss, applications are still open.
