Prepare Youself For a Geeky Valentine’s Day

3 min read,

If you think this post is pretty early, you might be right. But let’s be honest here, you have no idea what to get for your sweetheart and on February 14 you won’t have too much of a choice.

So why not prepare earlier? We’re geeks like you and these are the things should be planned out properly. Your partner will love you for planning out a great night for you two and if you’re both geeky, the night will be a total success!

We’ll give you out some ideas, but you’ll also have to put your touch into it. Make it personal, she or he will love it 😉

Tips For The Geek In Love

  • If you’re both fans of some online community like 9GAG, maybe you’ll want to create a comic with all the memes you can find? Get them on the list and think what each meme could do in the comic. Challenge accepted!;
  • You met in World of Warcraft? Why not take your characters on that special place in Azeroth, leave them there to hang out while you hang out with your darling in real life? Geeky, even nerdy, but cute in its own way;
  • Plan out a scavenger hunt. Leave hints around in your house, take them to your backyards and then switch from hints on paper to more geeky ones; leave geo-coordinates written on the last piece of paper. Your partner will have to take out its smartphone and find the location. That’s the time you’ll send an email with further instructions and so on. Get creative;

Love Movie Marathon. Star Wars!

  • Check out some geeky webshops like ThinkGeek; there are plenty of gadgets to choose, as well as t-shirts with geeky references;
  • Create a mini-site where you’ll express your feeling for your special someone. Tell them how they’re your princess Leia or something like that. Of course, since that’s really personal and about you, consider getting a .Me domain name for it!
  • Create some cool cards, like “You’re the CSS to my HTML“;
  • Organize a movie marathon – is your loved one a Star Wars geek? Lord or the Rings? Back to the Future? Contact your local movie theater and see if you can arrange a private projection of all six Star Wars movies just for you two. Or you can watch it in bed, right on your flat-screen or a computer monitor.
