Gandy.Me – A Startup, A Brand, A Road Trip Blog

Traveling is fun! Is it not? Well, sometimes it is not. Rarely, but it happens. Sometimes you have to do some careful planning to make the most out of your trip. Yup, it will take time and effort, but having complete control over every part of your trip is something that no travel agency will give you. Sure, there are acts of nature,or twists of fate that sometimes mess with your plans (or even make your trip better in unexpected ways), but satisfaction from knowing what, how, where, how much and why are you going is priceless. So let’s talk about Gandy.me.
Start This Trip
Gandy.me is a bit hard to describe. Footnote version is that it is a blog about roadtrip, but it is also much more. It is everything local, from buying to selling, dating to events, connecting with local businesses, and so on. It is a group of people that are hitting the road, together and separately, sometimes on different sides of the world. Although most of the content is from happenings and places in Texas, USA, it all started in Tokyo, Japan.
Above all, this is a startup project that is trying to build a brand awareness. And it is doing it in a pretty interesting way. Instead of going all online, big part of it is happening offline. There are standard business connections like meetups, meetings with companies and corporations, but there are other fun thing. On their blog you can track the roadtrip of the team, even before it started. Big part of it is repairing, repurposing and fixing up the Gandy RV.
Go Places, See Things
The team behind Gandy.Me is inviting everyone to join in, especially if you can build up mutual connections and business opportunities locally. Bloggers, photographers, writers and other socially active people are more than welcome to participate. The whole point is to motivate, inspire and empower people, while crossing items off their bucket list (and inviting you to do the same with yours). They want to act locally, so if you know that Gandy RV is coming to your place, don’t be a stranger and ring them up.
So far, the team has visited cities like Austin, Atlanta, Ontario, Tokyo, Macau and many more are planned, mostly in the USA. Some of the events that they visited are SXSW, Tokyo Billboard Live, Rocklahoma, and plan to visit Burning Man, Superbowl, Olympics, F1, Rio carnival and much more. Mixing serious business with serious fun seems seriously intriguing, don’t you think?
So What is Gandy.me?
If you still cannot quite grasp what Gandy.ME is, take it from one of the team members, Tommy Tran:
Gandy.me will soon be a part of our daily lives just like Facebook or LinkedIn is now. Imagine a site you can go to for all your daily needs and never having to leave it. From a local area of where you are located to anywhere in the World. The site and navigation will always be the same no matter what city you’re looking in, of course the content will change to be specific for that local area you’re interested in. From social networking, classifieds, dating, games, coupons, local events, movies times and theaters, local grocery ads / local gas prices based on your current location, and much more.
Well, Gandy.me is keeping some secrets, but for now it is a startup that has cool roadtrip blog. Call us intrigued, but what will happen next? Stay tuned!
