Foldable.Me Will Create A Loveable Cardboard Version of You!
If you loved The Office (US version) and Dwight’s bobble-head figurine, you’ll love Foldable.Me. The service just launched and you should try it out! What’s it all about? Well, with Foldable.Me you’ll be able to create a cardboard version of yourself or your friends.
It’s actually pretty fun – via the web interface you will create a character, pick out its clothes, hair, face. Everything is customizable and you can play with it for as much as you like. Once done, you should submit your character and order it.
Cardboard Head
Creating the character is free, however, you’ll have to pay $11.99 to get it delivered anywhere in the world. That isn’t a lot really considering that most eBay or Amazon orders have more expensive shipping costs. What you’re actually ordering is your character printed out on a piece of cardboard, actually on a special premium paper which is specially formatted for you to fold it up.
Of course, no glue is needed – you can check the video and see how it works. You won’t even need scissors. The figures you’ll end up with are 3.5-inch tall and weigh not more than 10 grams.

Kick Starting The Project
Foldable.Me is actually a classic Kickstarter project – the team had a great idea, the prototype was built and it seems that it was interesting enough for people to start funding the project. The Kickstart project started in March 2012 and now has 919 backers with over 25 thousand dollars – the goal needed was only $2,500 – which was met on April 23rd (not even a full month after the project was featured).
However, Foldable.Me isn’t the first service the team, Mint Digital developed; StickyGram is one of their ideas (Instagram stickers), Olly, the loveable robot that pumps smells into the air is also one of their products. The team obviously has many great ideas and not so much money – so if you’d like to see more from them in the future, check out Foldable.Me and make your own cardboard You!
