Just a Month After Raising $45 Million, DoubleDutch.Me Featured in Inc. 5000

While Ultra.me topped the Inc. 5000 list this year, there are a number of other .Me brands that made the list as America’s fastest growing private companies. Among them: DoubleDutch.Me, an award-winning event technology platform that gives external as well as internal corporate events the right mobile apps on iOS as well as Android.
Based in San Francisco, DoubleDutch.Me has supported events all around the world, from its native west coast to the shores of South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East as well as a large part of Asia. Just in August, DoubleDutch.Me raised over $45 million to grow its business, with the round being led by KKR and participation from their previous investors. So far the company has more than 1,000 customers and 260 employees in offices across the world, including San Francisco, Amsterdam, London, Hong Kong and Portland.
Last year, the company raised $19 million in Series D funding to grow its business. That round was lead by Mithril Capital Management as well as joined by their previous backers Bessemer Venture Partners, Index Ventures and Bullpen Capital. Singapore-based Enspire Capital also participated in the Series D.
With over $500 billion being spent on events and conferences annually as noted by Forrester Research, it’s not wonder that DoubleDutch has joined the ranks of the Inc. 5000 and brands such as Timberland, Dell and Pandora!
DoubleDutch.Me’s CEO, Lawrence Coburn, has said:
It’s an honor to be recognized in the Inc. 5000 list for the growth that DoubleDutch has achieved to date. We are excited by the opportunity to continue to bring digital marketing principles to the $565 billion events and conferences industry, and believe that our future is very bright.
While we won’t go into each detail of DoubleDutch.Me’s app just yet, it’s important to realize how competitive their industry is. Which is exactly why DoubleDutch.Me puts so much emphasis on being a “data-driven” event app, something that differentiates them from other companies in the space. In practise, it means uncovering trends among event participants through both their usage of DoubleDutch.Me-powered apps, as well as surveys featured in them.
The data-driven element comes in when DoubleDutch.Me offers you real-time analytics so you can improve your event as it’s happening. For example, what content are users bookmarking, what photos are they commenting as well as that exactly do they like. In the case of Content Marketing World that took place in Cleveland and was attended by over 1,000 people from brands such as Google and SAP, DoubleDutch.Me’s apps saw 580+ actions per user – IN AVERAGE! That’s more than 770,000 actions for the whole event that you can track through DoubleDutch.Me’s analytics.
This data can then be used to supercharge certain activities or parts of the event programme. If most of your users are looking forward to a particular speaker or panel, why not organise a followup Q&A session to give attendees the change to pose questions. Reacting to your users’ interest will show how in touch you are with their needs, which they’ll reward with great comments on social media as well as coming back next year for the event.
Keep in mind that DoubleDutch.Me isn’t an app you can start using tomorrow. In order to get your own customised data-driven iOS and Android apps, you’ll need to request a demo with DoubleDutch.Me’s team. While some might frown upon not being able just to sign up, put their credit card in and go, think of it as a learning opportunity. DoubleDutch.Me has worked with organizers of hundreds of events so they’ve seen everything and can help you in planning your event strategy.
