Diagnose.Me – Getting a Second Opinion Online

In today’s medical world two dangerous extremes emerge very often. Either you have a doctor who will never tell you to ask for second opinion or you will have patients who will take upon themselves to ask the internet what’s wrong with them, and that is always one steep fall down the rabbit’s hole. So is there a middle ground? Ofcourse there is and it is called Diagnose.me.
Take Care of Your Health
So what does Diagnose.me do, exactly? In short, it helps you to get a second medical opinion. It is an internet-based platform for connecting patients with medical specialists from around the world. Its task is to educate people on the importance of getting second opinion. It can correct or confirm your diagnosis and help your physician to decide how to proceed with a treatment. I know that there are still skeptics out there, because, “how can internet replace calling on a doctor?”. Well, you are alsotalking with real doctors here.
As it is stated on the Diagnose.me pages more than once, this is a helpful place to get an independent second opinion for those who already have a primary diagnosis. They encourage you to go to your primary physician before, and after you get a report from them. Through the platform you can get a traditional image analysis practice, but this still cannot replace an examination that requires a human touch. Co-founder Ivan Stefunko personally knows that personal health is not something that you shouldn’t toy with.
How does it work exactly? First you open your profile, where you can ask for a second opinion as many times as you want, and not only for yourself. You can ask for somebody else’s report on their behalf.. After that, you can send your files, primary diagnosis and images to a doctor of your choice. Note that this is not a free service, and that there are different criteria and prices for each radiologist.
Who Are the Doctors?
Pricing is based on their level of experience, availability and standard local pricing in doctor’s country of practice. You can pay additionally for translation of the report from the list of languages during the ordering process. Each report will be translated by a radiologist who is a native speaker of the language you want to translate to.
Variety of countries and doctors iswide. However, every radiologist that applies for Diagnose.me must go through their medical advisory board. It is composed of six renounced doctors, and they approve each and every radiologist that joins the Diagnose.me network. For every doctor on the site, you can click on a link and find out their credentials and where they work. To summarize, when you ask for a second opinion, you first describe your case, then select radiologist you want, then upload your medical images and then wait a few days to get it.
