daShow.Me Takes Digital Signage To A New (Social) Level

3 min read,

daShow is a new product in the .Me multiverse, and  it operates under a simple headline „Why show less when you can show more“. This digital and social signage solution allows business owners to engage their customers and visitors by sharing more information with them and displaying the right ads at the right time.

But let’s rewind a bit, because the story of daShow.Me starts with a completely different solution, its big brother daShef, a digital interactive menu created by Dream Implementation development agency. This handy system puts tablets in your brick-and-mortar restaurants and food spots, allowing the customers to call the waiter or get more information about the food and the locale.

More Information, More Interaction

Talking to some of the daShef customers, Andrija Frincic, co-founder of Dream Implementation, realized that they needed more space to communicate and share information with their customers than the few inches of the tablet allow:

When talking to our clients, they said they wanted a system that will enable them to display different information, including the ones from Da Shef, on a bigger screen. daShow is a cloud based system that we’re currently offering to the users of daShef, but it doesn’t stop there. It’s also a good solution for conferences and similar events where you want to display different information and social streams.

Even though daShow is offered to daShef users, the two solutions also work independently of one another, and both are aiming for the global market.

Bringing Digital Signage To The New Age

The new product also has applications outside the service industry – it provides a simple and effective content management system, displaying various ads and information, as well as allowing users to engage their customers via social networks and on the spot, in a shopping mall, hotel, restaurant or a public space like the airport or train station.

The system can also be rented out on a daily basis, for events such as conferences, to display important information like the speakers’ bios or the agenda, inform visitors about other conferences taking place soon and invite them to engage online.

There are some similar systems on the market, notes Andrija, but the advantage of the daShow is the fact that it is a well-rounded system:

There is some competition, including some specialized solutions like different tweet walls, as well as several cloud based services, but I think our main advantage lies in the integration with Da Shef, when it comes to restaurants, but also in the wide range of use the system covers. We have a very good system of plugins for social networks, as well as content filters, allowing us to incorporate interaction of the users on the digital media with digital signage systems that are traditionally used solely as a one-way communication channel.

The integration with social networks is an important trait nowadays, in the world that is increasingly connected and (digitally) interactive:

We decided to implement social networks into daShow and connect it with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Instagram so we could give added value to our users, allowing them to make their own customers their advocates. Restaurants and bars can, for example, use the big screens to engage them, awarding those who check-in the most or tweet about the place.

Da Show was launched last November, and when the team decided on the name, branding it as a part of a family of products created by Dream Implementation, the .me domain fit just right, Andrija explains.
