I admire programmers and absolutely praise the good ones. Where I come from they’re a dime a dozen, and every time I work on a project with one I feel like I’m watching a magician. This Italian startup is essentially a web app which lets its users create web sites and individual pages, whether it’s for personal or corporate use. The service was founded by Johnnie Maneiro, an avid blogger and a creative web developer who thought of this idea after a failed pitching session in front of the venture capitalists. Almost the same day, he started working on a Clapps.ME and pretty soon the project started to shape up.
Creating the actual website is pretty simple. Everything you have to do is sign up and claim your username. After that you’ll get confirmation email and you’re good to go. Several tools are included and the service let’s you customize pretty much everything – from your profile picture to the typeface and it’s color, all the way up to background and patterns. Clapps.ME also allows for easy integration with Instagram. This feature enables the service to use the last picture taken as the background image. Users can also add social media buttons and widgets which will further enrich their pages.
At this moment Clapps.ME is free and it will remain that way for its basic functions. However, there will be paid apps which users can buy. These apps are meant for companies, as they include their logo and a personalized page. Mobile apps are said to come in a near future and integration with Faceook is also possible. Clapps.Me Offeres Several Different Choices:
- A basic web page with three columns which includes an iPhone-like icon, your short profile, and links to you website, blog, and social network profiles. You can also select fonts, patterns and backgrounds to make your page more interesting.
- A personal web page (.ME). With this, you can choose to upload a photo as your background and decide on the Font and the chance to pick where to place your bio and links anywhere on your web page with its dag and drop option.
- A small website (+). Through this option, you can add up to 5 pages and pick from a 7 different menu style. In each page, you can change fonts, backgrounds, etc in your liking.
