Gluu.me Will Get You a Blind Date with an iPhone

You might find Facebook or Twitter the tools to meet new people online and hope to transfer that relationship into the offline world. Why not; it’s the 21st century and you wouldn’t be the first, nor the last couple that met online.

The problem is that you and your online crush aren’t living in the same city. You’re probably hunders of kilometers apart. Maybe you should look a bit more locally?

Gluu.me With Someone!

Gluu.me is a recently announced iPhone application which allows you to locate other Gluu users around you. Once located, you can start a conversation with them, but the main deal with Gluu.me is that you can start a blind date with them!

Of course, the other person still needs to confirm it, but it looks a lot easier and more probable then your Facebook relationship, right?

Gluuing With People

Gluu.me will search for other users among your contact list and show them on the map with a green icon, while other Gluu.me users will be marked with a red icon. The blue icon features you, and you can share your location with just one click. Sometimes you’ll find gray icons as well; they represent offline users.

You can contact your friends right from the app, start a phone, chat with them or just poke them. Unfortunately, Gluu.me doesn’t support VoIP, so your calls will be just like any other call you make. Red users, the ones that aren’t your friends can be contacted via message or poke, but you won’t be able to call them. You can also suggest a blind date where your goal is to get accepted by another user as a friend.

How Cute Am I?

In Gluu.me, you can earn points by creating new friendships or assigning groups to your contacts. Based on your sex, you can earn points for the following statuses; female ones are: pretty, very pretty and beautiful, while male statuses are: handsome, very handsome and gorgeous! You can also create some groups for your contacts for easier communication and extra points.

Gluu.me seems like a good idea, so if you want to give it a go, download it for free from the iTunes AppStore. The Android version should be released soon, so keep an eye on Gluu.me site for an announcement.
