Art in December: See.Me Brings The Creativity Back

Today, prevalent news are news about technology. It is wonderful to see what humanity is capable of either by making something that we never knew we needed, or something that is extremely entertaining, or something that will make life of those in need a lot easier. However, sometimes we forget about art. Those two are not mutually exclusive, but in the electronic era, it is easier to cave in when you see a new gadget instead of a new piece of art. To help you in seeing the beauty in the art, here is See.Me.
See The Art
The tag line for See.Me is to bring the creativity back to the real world. In 2014 it presented a fifth annual open call for art and photography called “Art Takes Miami” and winning entries will be posted today, December 1st. If you are an artist you can win a $10,000 cash grant and your art will be seen by 32,000 exhibition visitors and more than 1,2 million global viewers online. It is all happening on the most influential art show of North America and Latin America of the year, Art Basel Miami.
Founded in 1970, besides Miami Art Basel is annually held in Basel and Hong Kong. While latter two are held during summer and spring, Miami is a winter event. This year it will be held 4-7 of December. During that time, majority of the art world will trickle there, from curators to collectors, press and celebrities. Connections and careers are made and new artists are discovered. Even if you are not an artist, you can register someone you know, who in your opinion deserves a chance to shine in front of the big audience.
